About the Lamborghini LM002
Born from the failed 'Cheetah' military project, the LM002 was Lamborghini's first foray into off-road vehicles. It famously utilised the 5.2-litre V12 engine from the Countach Quattrovalvole, mounted at the front rather than the rear. Despite its nearly three-tonne kerb weight, the LM002 offered supercar levels of performance for the era, capable of crossing sand dunes at high speeds. Its combination of brutalist styling, a luxurious leather-lined cabin, and genuine off-road capability made it a favourite among Middle Eastern royalty and celebrities.
