About the Lamborghini Espada
Introduced at the 1970 Brussels Motor Show, the Series II (or GTE) refined the Espada with a more conventional dashboard and a significant power bump to 350 hp. Marcello Gandini's low-slung, wide-body design for Bertone provided genuine space for four adults, a feat few contemporary exotics could match. Mechanically, it shared the high-compression V12 and ventilated disc brakes from the Miura S, making it a formidable grand tourer. As the most popular iteration of the Espada, the Series II represents the model's peak before the impact of US safety regulations and the oil crisis altered its character.
