About the Lamborghini Countach LP500 S
Introduced at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show, the LP500 S (often badged as the 5000 S) was Lamborghini's response to the Ferrari 512 BB. It featured a significant displacement increase to 4.8 litres, providing much-needed torque and improved driveability over the earlier 4.0-litre models. Visually, it retained the dramatic 'S' body kit with flared arches and a massive optional rear wing, cementing its status as the definitive 1980s supercar. Only 321 examples were produced before it was succeeded by the Quattrovalvole, making it a rare and highly sought-after variant for collectors.
