About the Jaguar XK140
Introduced in 1954 as the successor to the legendary XK120, the Jaguar XK140 addressed its predecessor's cramped cabin by moving the engine and firewall forward. It retained the iconic 3.4-litre XK straight-six engine but introduced significant mechanical upgrades, most notably rack-and-pinion steering and telescopic shock absorbers. While visually heavier due to larger bumpers and a cast grille, the XK140 offered a more compliant ride and improved legroom, making it a superior grand tourer. It remains a cornerstone of British sports car history, bridging the gap between the raw XK120 and the more modern XK150.
