About the Jaguar Mark X
Introduced in 1961 and updated with the 4.2-litre engine in 1964, the Mark X was Jaguar's flagship saloon, designed primarily to capture the American luxury market. It was a technological tour de force for its era, featuring the independent rear suspension from the E-Type and a sophisticated monocoque chassis. Despite its massive proportions—it remains one of the widest Jaguars ever built—it offered surprisingly agile handling and a top speed of over 120 mph. The interior is a masterclass in British luxury, featuring extensive walnut veneers and fold-out picnic tables for rear passengers.
