About the Isuzu Gemini

The second-generation Isuzu Gemini, introduced in 1985, marked a significant shift for the nameplate by moving to a front-wheel-drive platform. Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, the car featured a clean, wedge-shaped aesthetic, though the designer famously requested his name be removed after General Motors altered the design without his consent. The 1.5-litre SOHC engine provided modest but reliable performance, making it a popular choice for global markets where it was also sold as the Chevrolet Spectrum and Isuzu I-Mark. Today, it is remembered for its sharp handling and the 'Dancing Geminis' television advertisements that showcased its agility.
