About the Hyundai Veloster FS
The first-generation Hyundai Veloster, codenamed FS, debuted as a unique alternative to traditional hatchbacks, featuring a distinctive 2+1 door configuration with one door on the driver's side and two on the passenger side. The 1.6 GDi trim utilises a naturally aspirated Gamma engine with Gasoline Direct Injection, prioritising efficiency over outright performance. While its striking, low-slung aesthetic suggested a sports car, the driving experience was tuned more for urban commuting, featuring a torsion beam rear suspension and light steering. It remains a notable design experiment from Hyundai's period of rapid brand transformation.
