About the Hyundai Nexo FE
The Hyundai Nexo represents the second generation of Hyundai's hydrogen fuel cell technology, succeeding the ix35 FCEV. Built on a bespoke platform, it utilizes a 95kW fuel cell stack and a small 1.56kWh buffer battery to power a front-mounted electric motor. Its primary innovation is the ability to refuel in approximately five minutes while offering a WLTP range of over 400 miles, addressing the primary 'range anxiety' of battery EVs. The driving experience is characterized by near-silent operation and smooth, linear torque, though it is physically lighter and more aerodynamic than its predecessor.
