About the Hyundai ix35 NU
While the ix35 name was retired globally in 2015 in favour of the Tucson, Beijing Hyundai developed this second-generation 'NU' model specifically for the Chinese market. Launched at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show, it sits on a modified version of the original LM platform but features completely unique, more rugged styling. It was designed to bridge the gap between the smaller ix25 and the larger Tucson, offering a budget-friendly alternative with proven mechanicals. The 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine provides reliable, if unhurried, performance suited for urban commuting.
