About the Hummer H2

The Hummer H2 was developed to bring the military-inspired aesthetic of the H1 to a more usable, civilian-friendly SUV platform. Built by AM General under contract for General Motors, it utilizes a hybrid chassis combining heavy-duty GMT800 truck components to support its massive three-ton kerb weight. For 2005, the 6.0-litre Vortec V8 received a power bump to 325 hp, though performance remained leisurely due to its immense scale and aerodynamic profile. Despite its controversial reputation for fuel inefficiency, the H2 remains a highly capable off-roader with a 47-degree approach angle and a locking rear differential.
