About the Honda Passport
Reviving a nameplate dormant since 2002, the third-generation Honda Passport was introduced for the 2019 model year as a more adventurous, two-row alternative to the family-oriented Pilot. It shares the Pilot's unibody platform and 280-hp V6 engine but features a shorter rear overhang and increased ground clearance for improved off-road geometry. The interior is noted for its class-leading cargo space and practical underfloor storage, though early models were criticised for a dated infotainment interface. On the road, it offers a comfortable ride and surprisingly brisk acceleration, while the available i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system provides genuine capability on loose surfaces.

Honda Passport fun facts
- Despite its Japanese branding, the third-generation Passport was designed and developed in the United States and is manufactured in Lincoln, Alabama.
- The Passport name was originally used in the 1990s for a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, but this generation is a pure Honda design sharing components with the Ridgeline and Pilot.
- The 2019 Passport features a 'black-out' styling theme as standard, including 20-inch black wheels and a black grille to distinguish it from the chrome-heavy Pilot.
