About the Alfa Romeo 145

The Alfa Romeo 145 replaced the ageing 33 with a bold, avant-garde design penned by Chris Bangle at Centro Stile Fiat. In 1997, the characterful but dated boxer engines were replaced by the more modern and powerful 16-valve Twin Spark units, significantly improving performance and reliability. Built on the Fiat Tipo platform, it features a unique 'cut-away' dashboard designed for passenger knee room and a sharp, quick-ratio steering rack that makes it surprisingly agile. While the 2.0-litre Cloverleaf is the collector's choice, the 1.6 TS offers a sweet balance of rev-happy Italian character and everyday usability.
