About the Ford Fiesta RS Turbo Mk3
Launched in 1990, the Fiesta RS Turbo was Ford's attempt to bring the success of the Escort RS Turbo to the smaller Mk3 Fiesta platform. It utilised a Garrett T2 turbocharged CVH engine, distinguished visually by its three-spoke alloy wheels, green body-side mouldings, and functional bonnet vents. While praised for its straight-line pace, it was often criticised for torque steer and a less refined chassis compared to the Peugeot 205 GTI. Today, it is a highly sought-after modern classic, particularly as many were lost to accidents or heavy modifications during the 'Max Power' era.

Ford Fiesta RS Turbo Mk3 fun facts
- The RS Turbo was only in production for two years before being replaced by the naturally aspirated, 1.8-litre Fiesta RS1800 in 1992.
- It featured Recaro front seats as standard, which were trimmed in the same 'Raven' fabric found in the Sierra RS Cosworth of the era.
- Unlike the Escort RS Turbo, the Fiesta version did not come with a limited-slip differential, contributing to its reputation for challenging handling under boost.
