About the Fiat 6 HP

The Fiat 6 HP was the second model produced by the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino, succeeding the original 3.5 HP. Designed by Aristide Faccioli, it featured a larger 1.1-litre twin-cylinder engine and, crucially, introduced a reverse gear which its predecessor lacked. The 6 HP also served as the basis for the 6 HP Corsa, Fiat's first-ever racing car, which was campaigned by legendary figures such as Vincenzo Lancia and Felice Nazzaro. With only 20 units produced, it is an exceptionally rare artifact of early automotive history, representing the transition from horse-drawn carriage aesthetics to purpose-built motor vehicles.
