About the Fiat 500 Nuova
The Nuova 500 brought personal motoring within reach of many Italian households after its 1957 launch. A 1968 500F has front-hinged doors and a 499.5 cc two-cylinder engine, unlike the earlier rear-hinged 500D. Its short wheelbase and featherweight feel make town driving a delight, though its performance is deliberately modest. The unsynchronised gearbox rewards a sympathetic driver, and corrosion is the key buying concern.
