About the Fiat 2300
The Fiat 2300 S Coupé was the flagship of Fiat's 1960s range, featuring elegant bodywork designed by Sergio Sartorelli at Ghia and hand-built by OSI. Under the bonnet, its 2.3-litre straight-six was tuned by Abarth with twin Weber carburettors and a high-lift camshaft, earning it the nickname 'the poor man's Ferrari' for its exotic sound and grand touring capability. It was notably more expensive than a Jaguar E-Type when new, reflecting its status as a sophisticated, high-speed continental cruiser. The interior is a masterclass in 1960s Italian style, often featuring a Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel and a distinctive three-piece wrap-around rear window.
