About the Bentley Mark VI
The Mark VI was a pivotal moment for Bentley, representing the first model to be offered with a factory-built 'Standard Steel' body rather than requiring a separate coachbuilder. Produced at the new Crewe factory, it shared its chassis and F-head straight-six engine with the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, though it was tuned for a more spirited driving experience. The interior is a masterclass in traditional British craft, featuring extensive walnut veneers and Connolly leather. While early cars suffered from poor-quality post-war steel, well-maintained examples remain remarkably capable and refined long-distance cruisers.
