About the Fiat 1500

The Fiat 1500 C, introduced in 1964, was the final evolution of the 1300/1500 series, featuring a lengthened wheelbase for improved rear legroom and a power bump to 75 PS. Its styling, heavily influenced by the Chevrolet Corvair, was modern for the early 1960s and helped Fiat compete with the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Mechanically, it was advanced for its class, offering front disc brakes and an alloy cylinder head with twin rocker shafts. While the Pininfarina-styled cabriolets are more famous, the 'C' saloon remains a charming, usable classic with a rev-happy engine and surprisingly nimble handling.
