About the Citroën Type H

The Citroën Type H is one of the most recognisable commercial vehicles in history, famous for its 'pig nose' front and corrugated aircraft-inspired bodywork. Introduced in 1947, it was revolutionary for its time, featuring a weight-saving monocoque construction and a front-wheel-drive layout that allowed for an exceptionally low and flat loading floor. The 1965 HY trim typically utilised the 1.6-litre 'Type 72' engine, which offered improved efficiency over earlier units. While slow and noisy to drive by modern standards, its independent torsion bar suspension provides surprisingly stable handling. Today, it is a highly sought-after collector's item, frequently converted into stylish mobile coffee shops and food trucks.
