About the Citroën Méhari

Introduced in 1968, the Citroën Méhari is a lightweight utility vehicle featuring a unique body made of ABS plastic panels riveted to a tubular steel frame. Based on the mechanicals of the Dyane 6 and 2CV, it was designed by Roland de La Poype to be a rust-proof, hose-out alternative to the Mini Moke. Its minimalist design includes a folding windscreen and removable fabric top, making it a symbol of 1970s French beach culture. While modest in power, its extremely low kerb weight and long-travel independent suspension provide surprising off-road capability and a charming, tactile driving experience.
