About the Citroën BX GTi 16V
Launched in 1987, the BX GTi 16V (known as the Soupapes in France) was Citroën's high-performance flagship for the BX range. It featured the XU9J4 engine, which was later shared with the Peugeot 405 Mi16, and was distinguished by a bespoke body kit including a deep front spoiler and a prominent rear wing. The car combined Citroën's signature self-levelling hydropneumatic suspension with a firmer, sportier setup, offering a unique blend of ride quality and sharp handling. Today, it is a sought-after modern classic, praised for its lightweight construction and high-revving naturally aspirated power.
