About the Chevrolet Sail

The second-generation Chevrolet Sail was a pivotal model for General Motors, representing the first vehicle developed in China by the SAIC-GM joint venture for global export. Designed by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), it moved away from its Opel Corsa-based roots to a new, dedicated small-car architecture. The 1.4-litre variant offered a variable geometry intake manifold to improve efficiency and low-end response. While primarily a budget-focused commuter, it achieved significant commercial success in markets across Asia, South America, and North Africa.
