About the Chevrolet Equinox
The second-generation Chevrolet Equinox arrived for the 2010 model year, moving to the Theta platform and offering a significantly more upscale interior than its predecessor. The 2.4-litre Ecotec engine featured direct injection, a first for the segment, which helped it achieve a then-impressive 32 mpg on the highway. While not a performance vehicle, it was praised for its 'MultiFlex' sliding rear seat and quiet cabin, thanks to active noise cancellation on the four-cylinder models. It served as a critical volume seller for GM during its post-bankruptcy recovery period.
