About the Chevrolet Camaro
The fifth-generation Camaro SS marked the triumphant return of Chevrolet's pony car after a seven-year hiatus, built on the GM Zeta platform shared with Holden. The SS trim features the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 when equipped with the manual transmission, delivering a raw, mechanical driving experience that its automatic counterparts lack. Its design, heavily inspired by the 1969 original, became a pop-culture icon through the Transformers film franchise. While the interior was criticised for visibility and plastic quality, the chassis offered surprisingly sophisticated handling for a muscle car, aided by independent rear suspension and Brembo brakes.
