About the Caterham CT01
Originally known as the Lotus T129, the CT01 was the first car of the renamed Caterham F1 Team, designed under Mike Gascoyne with chief designer Lewis Butler. It used a Renault V8 and a Red Bull Technology gearbox and was the team's first car with KERS. Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov, who replaced Jarno Trulli after the first test, usually had the edge over Marussia and HRT but did not score. Petrov's 11th place at the final race in Brazil lifted Caterham above Marussia to tenth in the Constructors' Championship.
