About the Buick Regal
The fourth-generation Buick Regal moved to the W-body platform, sharing its architecture with the Oldsmobile Intrigue and Pontiac Grand Prix. Positioned as a more upscale, performance-oriented alternative to the Buick Century, it was exclusively powered by the 3.8-litre V6 engine. While the LS trim offered a naturally aspirated version, the Regal was best known for the supercharged GS variant. This generation is remembered for its exceptional reliability and smooth ride, representing the traditional American 'near-luxury' sedan of the late 1990s.
