About the Buick GL8
The second-generation Buick GL8, developed by PATAC in Shanghai, solidified Buick's dominance in the Chinese premium MPV market. While based on an evolution of the GM U-body platform, it introduced a more sophisticated 'Business Concept' design language with a distinctive dipping beltline. The 2.4-litre Ecotec variant served as the high-volume entry point for corporate fleets and families alike, offering a more efficient alternative to the 3.0-litre V6. It is renowned for its 'QuietTuning' insulation and a spacious 2-2-3 seating layout that prioritises middle-row comfort.
