About the BMW M235i Gran Coupe F44

The F44 M235i Gran Coupe marked a significant departure for BMW's compact performance range, moving from the rear-wheel drive layout of its predecessor to the front-biased UKL2 platform. Powered by the B48 engine, it was the most powerful four-cylinder in the BMW Group at launch, paired with a Torsen limited-slip differential to manage traction. While marketed as a 'four-door coupe', it is effectively a premium sports saloon designed to rival the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and Audi S3. It offers a tech-heavy interior and sharp handling, though it trades the traditional oversteer-led balance of older M-lite cars for high-grip stability.
