About the Audi 200 C3
The C3-generation Audi 200 was a masterclass in aerodynamics, featuring a remarkably low drag coefficient of 0.30 that allowed it to achieve high top speeds with relatively modest displacement. The 1988 facelift introduced the '1B' engine code, which utilised optimized electronic management to push the 10-valve five-cylinder to 200 PS. While the Quattro versions are more famous, the front-wheel-drive Turbo offered a lighter, purer executive experience with the characteristic five-cylinder warble. It remains a significant bridge between Audi's early luxury efforts and the dominant executive force it became in the 1990s.
