About the Audi 200 C2
The Audi 200 5T (C2) was a pivotal moment for the brand, serving as its first foray into the executive luxury segment and the debut of its signature turbocharged five-cylinder engine. Based on the Audi 100 but featuring a more upscale interior and distinctive quad-headlight styling, it was designed to compete with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz W123. The 2.1-litre 'WJ' engine provided performance that rivalled contemporary V8s, establishing the template for the high-performance Audis that followed. Today, it is a rare and highly sought-after classic, prized for its smooth power delivery and historical significance as the ancestor of the Ur-Quattro.
