About the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti
The 1980 Alfasud Ti 1.5 represents the peak of the 'Sud's development, featuring the facelifted plastic bumpers and a more powerful twin-carburettor boxer engine. Renowned for its exceptionally low centre of gravity and sharp rack-and-pinion steering, it offered handling that famously eclipsed the contemporary Volkswagen Golf GTI. While its reputation was marred by severe corrosion issues due to poor-quality Soviet steel, surviving examples are now highly prized for their tactile driving dynamics and charismatic engine note. This 1.5-litre version is the most sought-after of the standard Ti models before the arrival of the Green Cloverleaf.
