About the Alfa Romeo 33

The 1.7 16v was the ultimate evolution of the Alfa Romeo 33, introduced with the Series 2 'Nuova' facelift to compete with the era's hottest hatchbacks. Its DOHC flat-four engine is the star, offering a low centre of gravity and a distinctive, raspy soundtrack that remains one of the most soulful in its class. While the chassis was an evolution of the Alfasud's, the 33 traded some of its predecessor's purity for improved aerodynamics and a more modern interior. Collectors prize the 16v for its high specific output and the raw, mechanical engagement that defined Alfa Romeo before the Fiat-platform era.
