About the Acura ZDX
Introduced as a 2010 model, the Acura ZDX was a radical departure for the brand, designed to blend the sleek profile of a coupé with the elevated stance of an SUV. It was the first vehicle designed entirely at Acura's Southern California studio and featured the brand's first six-speed automatic transmission paired with the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Despite its striking aesthetics and high-quality hand-stitched leather interior, the ZDX struggled commercially due to its compromised rear passenger space and cargo utility. Today, it is regarded as a cult classic and a precursor to the modern trend of 'lifestyle' SUVs, with its rarity making it a unique sight on the road.
