About the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 X253

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S (X253) stands as a unique proposition in the performance SUV market, being the only vehicle in its class to feature a full-fat 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. This M177 engine, shared with the AMG GT, provides a thunderous soundtrack and immediate torque that its six-cylinder rivals cannot match. The 2019 facelift introduced the AMG Dynamics system and a revised 9-speed MCT transmission, sharpening the handling of what was already the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring at the time. It remains a collector favourite for being the last of the V8-powered compact AMGs before the shift to four-cylinder hybrid powertrains.
