About the Volvo 1800
The Volvo 1800 S is a quintessential 1960s grand tourer, blending Italian-inspired styling by Pelle Petterson with Volvo's legendary mechanical robustness. By 1967, production had moved from Jensen in the UK to Volvo's own Lundby plant in Sweden, resulting in improved build quality and the 'S' (Sverige) designation. The 1967 model features the uprated 115 hp B18B engine, providing reliable performance that famously allowed one example to exceed three million miles. While not a pure sports car, its comfortable 2+2 cabin and overdrive-equipped gearbox make it an exceptional long-distance cruiser.
