About the Volkswagen Touran Mk2
The second-generation Volkswagen Touran (Typ 5T) transitioned to the modular MQB platform, significantly improving interior space and refinement over its predecessor. The 1.5-litre TSI 'Evo' engine, introduced to the range in late 2018, features Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) to shut down two cylinders under light loads for improved efficiency. While SUVs have largely eclipsed the MPV segment, the Touran remains a standout for its 'FoldFlat' seating system and car-like handling. The SE trim serves as the core of the range, offering a balanced specification including adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors as standard.
