About the Vauxhall Sintra
The Vauxhall Sintra was General Motors' attempt to enter the European large MPV market by rebadging the American U-body platform (Chevrolet Venture/Pontiac Trans Sport). Despite offering a class-leading interior volume and a flexible seating arrangement for up to eight passengers, it was widely panned for its poor build quality and American-style driving dynamics. Its reputation was permanently damaged by a disastrous Euro NCAP crash test performance, where it was one of the worst-scoring vehicles in its class. Vauxhall withdrew the model after just three years, replacing it with the much more successful, European-designed Zafira.
