About the Volkswagen Taigo
Introduced to Europe in 2021, the Volkswagen Taigo is a subcompact coupe-SUV based on the MQB A0 platform shared with the Polo and T-Cross. Originally launched in South America as the Nivus, it features a distinctive sloping roofline designed to offer a sportier aesthetic than its more upright stablemates. The R-Line trim adds aggressive styling cues, including bespoke bumpers and 17-inch 'Valencia' alloy wheels, while maintaining the practical interior layout typical of Volkswagen's B-segment offerings. It is powered by a refined three-cylinder TSI engine, balancing urban efficiency with enough mid-range torque for comfortable motorway cruising.
