About the Volkswagen Bora
The Volkswagen Bora was introduced as a more upscale, saloon-bodied alternative to the fourth-generation Golf, replacing the Vento in European markets. While it shared the same PQ34 platform and high-quality interior as the Golf, the Bora featured unique front-end styling and a distinct notchback profile intended to compete with entry-level executive cars. The 1.6-litre 16-valve engine was a popular choice for the SE trim, offering a balance of efficiency and sufficient performance for daily use. Today, it is remembered for its exceptional build quality and 'soft-touch' interior plastics that set a new benchmark for the compact class at the turn of the millennium.
