About the Vauxhall VXR8 VE
Launched in 2007 as a four-door successor to the Monaro coupe, the Vauxhall VXR8 was a rebadged Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) Clubsport R8. It brought old-school muscle car thrills to the UK, featuring a 6.0-litre LS2 V8 engine and a rear-wheel-drive chassis designed for tail-out antics. While the interior lacked the refinement of German rivals, its massive performance-per-pound and characterful soundtrack earned it a cult following. The VE-generation VXR8 remains a rare sight on British roads, prized for its simplicity and raw power.
