About the Vauxhall Viva HC
The HC-generation Viva, launched in 1970, represented the final evolution of Vauxhall's popular small family car before the brand transitioned to Opel-based platforms. It featured a more contemporary, angular design than the 'coke-bottle' HB, offering improved interior space and a larger glass area. The 1.3 SL (Super Luxury) trim provided a more refined experience with upgraded interior appointments and the 1256cc OHV engine, which became the range's mainstay from late 1971. As the last passenger car designed entirely by Vauxhall in the UK, it holds a significant place in British automotive history.
