About the Vauxhall Victor F Series
Launched in 1957, the F-series Victor was Vauxhall's bold attempt to bring American 'Motorama' styling to the UK market. Heavily influenced by the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, it featured a panoramic wraparound windscreen, forward-sloping A-pillars, and integrated exhaust ports in the rear bumper. While its 1.5-litre engine offered modest performance, the Victor was a massive commercial success and briefly became Britain's most exported car. However, its complex body panels were notoriously prone to corrosion, making well-preserved survivors exceptionally rare today.

Vauxhall Victor F Series fun facts
- The Victor F was the first Vauxhall to be sold in the United States, marketed through Pontiac dealerships as a 'captive import'.
- Early models featured exhaust gases exiting through a port in the rear bumper, a design flourish that contributed significantly to rapid body rot.
- The car's 'panoramic' windscreen was so heavily curved that it created a 'dog-leg' A-pillar, which often caught the knees of passengers entering the car.
