About the Toro Rosso STR11

Scuderia Toro Rosso built the STR11 under technical director James Key for 2016 and switched to Ferrari power after Red Bull terminated its Renault partnership at the end of 2015. Because the Ferrari agreement came late, Ferrari won FIA permission to supply a 2015-specification 060 power unit, with no direct factory support, while its own team, Haas and Sauber ran the newer 061. Max Verstappen scored 13 points in the first four races before swapping seats with Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat, and Carlos Sainz Jr. led the way with 46 points. The car was reasonably competitive but could not escape the crowded midfield, and Toro Rosso finished seventh in the Constructors' Championship.
