About the Subaru Legacy RS BC
The Legacy RS (BC5) was the car that transformed Subaru from a manufacturer of utilitarian farm vehicles into a global performance powerhouse. Developed to homologate Subaru's entry into Group A rallying, it introduced the EJ20G engine—a 2.0-litre turbocharged boxer that would later define the Impreza WRX. While the RS was a refined executive saloon, its stiffened suspension and symmetrical AWD system provided the foundation for Colin McRae's first WRC victories. Today, original RS examples are highly prized by collectors as the 'genesis' of the modern Subaru performance era.
