About the Volkswagen Lupo GTI
The Lupo GTI is a cult-classic hot hatch renowned for its high-quality engineering and lightweight construction. To keep weight under a tonne, Volkswagen utilised aluminium for the bonnet, doors, and flared wheel arches, while the battery was moved to the boot for better weight distribution. Early models featured a five-speed gearbox, but this 2002 version benefits from the more desirable six-speed manual transmission. Its rev-happy 1.6-litre engine and short wheelbase provide a go-kart-like driving experience that remains highly sought after by enthusiasts.
