About the Renault MT
The Renault MT was a compact '6CV' model designed to compete with the popular Citroën Type C. Introduced at the 1923 Paris Motor Show, it featured the brand's signature 'coal-scuttle' bonnet with the radiator positioned behind the engine. While mechanically similar to the Type KJ, the MT was marketed with more adventurous body styles, including the distinctive 'skiff' or boat-tail torpedo coachwork by Labourdette. Despite its charm and 70 km/h top speed, it was relatively expensive for its class and was soon replaced by the more successful Renault NN.

Renault MT fun facts
- The MT was one of the last Renault models to feature the radiator behind the engine, a design that gave early Renaults their unique sloping nose.
- It was available with a 'ducktail' or 'skiff' body, a nautical-inspired design trend popular in the 1920s.
- The MT's successor, the Renault NN, became a massive success with over 150,000 units produced, far eclipsing the MT's short production run.
