About the Renault Megane RS Mk2
Launched in 2004, the Megane RS 225 marked Renault Sport's entry into the high-performance family hatchback segment, utilizing a turbocharged version of the F4R engine. While early reviews noted a lack of the Clio RS's agility, the 225 was praised for its mid-range punch and distinctive 'shaking' rear-end styling. The 2006 facelift (Phase II) improved the steering feel and suspension, bridging the gap to the more focused Cup and R26 variants. Today, it is valued as a characterful, affordable modern classic that paved the way for Renault's Nürburgring record-breakers.
