About the SEAT Leon Cupra Mk2
Launched in 2006, the Mk2 Leon Cupra was SEAT's most powerful production car at the time, sharing its EA113 engine architecture with the Audi S3 and Golf GTI Edition 30. Designed by Walter de Silva, its distinctive 'Auto-Emoción' styling featured hidden rear door handles and a curvaceous silhouette that set it apart from its more conservative VW Group siblings. The Cupra utilised a larger K04 turbocharger to produce 240 PS, delivering a more aggressive power delivery than the contemporary Golf GTI. While it lacked a mechanical limited-slip differential, its sharp chassis and value-for-money performance made it a cult favourite among European enthusiasts.
