About the Renault Laguna Mk3
The third-generation Renault Laguna arrived in 2007 with a heavy focus on quality and reliability to repair the brand's reputation after the troubled Mk2. Developed alongside the Nissan Altima, it featured a more conservative design and a significantly improved interior with soft-touch materials. The 2.0 dCi engine, co-developed with Nissan, is widely regarded as one of the most robust diesel units of its era, featuring a maintenance-free timing chain. While it lacked the driver engagement of a Ford Mondeo, it offered exceptional refinement and was the first car to achieve a five-star Euro NCAP rating in its class.
