About the Oldsmobile Bravada
After a one-year hiatus, the Oldsmobile Bravada returned for 1996 as the upscale sibling to the Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Jimmy. Positioned as a luxury SUV, it featured standard leather upholstery, wood interior accents, and the 'SmartTrak' full-time all-wheel-drive system, which lacked a low-range transfer case to prioritise on-road refinement. The 4.3-litre Vortec V6 provided adequate power, though it was often criticised for its high fuel consumption. While it shared its GMT330 platform with its GM cousins, the Bravada was distinguished by its unique body cladding and a more sophisticated, car-like interior.
